Dame Ningen no Aishikata
Shinba is a broke, unemployed young man with zero going for him. By some weird twist, he's somehow dating Hizumi: a stunning, successful, and sharp-tongued woman. The guy is a complete mess who can't hold a job and fails at almost everything, but he's desperate to change for Hizumi's sake. Her style of "love" involves a lot of sarcasm, cruel teasing, and backhanded compliments. You'll spend a lot of time trying to figure out if she actually likes him, gets some weird kick out of bullying him, or has a secret he can't see.
What most descriptions don't tell you is that this manga can be seriously frustrating to read. The male lead Shinba isn't just a "loveable loser"—he often has zero drive and gives up way too easily. It's less a sweet romance and more a psychological test of a broken person trying to be "fixed" through emotional whiplash. The art is good, but the story feels like an experiment in how dysfunctional a relationship can be. If you find watching a man get mentally torn apart by a beautiful woman entertaining, or you love a good "is this love or emotional torture?" mystery, you might be into this.
